Devlog 12: Post-Production
I'm honestly very grateful that we get to do this as practice for our capstone because I learned a lot in the past couple of years on these long-term projects. Last year I learned the importance of working with people who had similar goals and motivations. Since I was able to accomplish that this year, I was able to figure out the smaller things that need to ironed out for next year.
Some of us have decided to stick together for capstone and have discussed how we can save time merging our work together. The goal is to set up a way that we can all work in the same scene. We've had meetings where it's hours of merging work, running into issues when doing so, then taking the time to fix those issues. Streamlining a process for this would allow us to spend more time working on features. Once we've figured it out, we should also document it so we know exactly how to use the system, especially since it'll be our first time using it.
We also discussed how little we used our final say. This was most likely due to working with friends and being too nice as a result. There were cases where it would have been more efficient to save a discussion or cut a feature using final say.
All in all, I feel great about what we were able to achieve this year. It's a massive step up from last year. I feel like all the cuts that were made we're not huge sacrifices to the end result as well, which is also amazing. Everyone worked so hard this year and I appreciate it!
